I decreased the experience points in the game and it looks like it got saved permanently.
Since that time even if I change and increase their value, it comes back to the decreased level each time after restarting the game.
What should I do to "save" the change i make?

Yes, i got my lesson to not mess with such stuff without a proper knowledge, was checking the things in practice way too early

So if you find the value again and increase it, does it apply? As in, does the higher level content get unlocked?

In one word: no.

It works like this:
Let's say the stucked value (of my experience points) is 100
I increase this value to 200 - my level in the game changes according to the amount of experience points I have add, BUT the content that should be unlocked together with the new level is still blocked/unavailable for me, showing me that i need to lvl up to unlock it.
Then I play and gain 50 exp points, so I have 250
I restart the game - I have only 150, so it's again just the stucked value + whatever i got later


Before i did the whole thing my actual level in the game was 62, now it's 17 and all the content available for the levels above 17 is locked, i can't use any of it even when the level apparently changes (temporarily - until i restart the game) to anything above 17, it is still as I have the level 17 and I have to work for everything once again.
Since the time i did the thing i leveled up from lvl 16 to 17 and i unlocked the content available for lvl 17 so it works normally. But when I change the value of experience points myself - nothing

The thing is i must have save it somehow already in some simple way since it looks like i described, just dont have an idea how
