I have a script that is testing for the DELETE key using IsKeyPressed(VK_DELETE) but it's not picking up the key state in a directX game. I suspect that might be because the scan codes for normal key presses are different to those sent to directx. I am wondering if the function IsKeyPressed() is able to distinguish between the 2 types of scan codes. The DELETE key in DirectX is 0xD3 (211) but the VK_DELETE define is 0x2E (46). I've tried using the function IsKeyPressed(211) but that doesn't work which makes me think that the underlying code for checking scan codes does not allow of directx.
Can someone confirm or perhaps tell me how I can do the test correctly?
PS:
I'm using VoiceAttack to send the key presses to the game via speech commands. It gives the option to send these keystrokes as *normal* scan codes or *directX* scan codes - I need to use directx for the game to see the keystroke so I imagine cheatengine also needs to differentiate.
