volunteering from morning to early afternoon tomorrow to prepare thanksgiving for homeless. then afterwards my brother and i are going to our parents house for dinner. i will offer my mom help but i already know she's super craay about her kitchen and a perfectionist that has to have everything done HER way and she'll just tell me she doesn't want help.

I hate how moms do that. My mom wouldn't even let me change stuff, so we had bland thanksgiving food for many years that was still acceptable, but lacked the fine flavor development that comes from using lots of herbs and spices I take all my recipes from online, and quite frankly there's no way someone is gonna remember all those ingredients used in the top rated ones. This is my first time cooking turkey and real mac and cheese using a rue, so hopefully everything turns out great. I put my turkey in a brine for 24 hours of brown sugar, salt, vegetable broth, all spice, peppercorns, and then I dried it off and stuffed about 1 1/2 sticks of herb-shallot butter I made earlier under the skin and on the outside. Can't go wrong right?
That's great that you're providing people with the comfort of a nice meal who can't afford it. We actually got our turkey for free from a food bank, so I can relate to those people although I'm not homeless I do receive government support with section 8 housing and food banks, or at least my mom does.

Okay? You're one person, so maybe someone else who is interested in cooking. There was no point in saying that at all....If you didn't care you wouldn't have responded at all. For someone who talks about feeding the homeless you sure don't fit the role.

responded to the question of what i was doing for thanksgiving. all that extra fluff and details you added were unnecessary. my comment has nothing to do with what i do with my free time on my days off.
it actually makes a lot of sense that i like to help out homeless people and people stuck in their addiction considering i've been there, i've felt their pain. so many people helped me during those dark times that now i am doing better i'd like to give back and help the next guy in hopes that one day he gets better and can help someone else and so on.
