Actually, the Earth isn't really blue.

Color is merely an invention of the human brain. It's our method of interpreting various wavelengths of light forms. Everything is actually black and white. The "blue" that we see on satellite views of the Earth is not from the sea. The water just reflects the atmosphere's color, which happens to appear blue from where we stand (As you go up or down the Earth's atmosphere, the color tends to vary, especially when the sun sets). So when we say "the blue sea", we're wrong. When we say the "blue skies", we are also wrong (Remember, it's just Sun Rays being split by the atmosphere, most of the harmful radiation is trapped by the Ozone layer before it can reach us).

Everything you know is wrong.
