Is there a way to say NO to the extra shit CE 6.3 tries to install? I am not at all interested in search protect and I'm never installing adware.

Bitdefender offers an absolutely free download, constant free updates and is reported to be one of the better ones out there.I have it installed and I am very impressed. Cheat Engine is in no way a Virus. It's a FALSE POSITIVE.

Most AV tools report CE as clean; however, recently Chrome told me that CE was malicious.

Just send an e-mail to the chrome developers or whoever is making it show up as a virus that it's safe. After a million e-mails they should get the point

So I am hoping these detections are false then? Or is there someone on your site intentionally replacing installer files with their own that include hidden fun stuffs?

but no, the files should be correct. At most an installer may show an confusing offer page depending on which installer you get (300KB or 8MB) but the installers are not modified

if you mean the weird url override that the somoto installer makes use of ( you can see it at work here http://cheatengine.org/index.php?advertiser=somoto instead of refreshing till you get the 10% chance it shows) that's by design

oh God, chrome is pretty annoying after this new thing they introduced. I couldn't download the new CE (non-installer version) at first because chrome said it was new and could be malicious or something of sort because it is not commonly downloaded, whatever the heck that means.

It has been doing this for deviated trainers even, i keep getting complaints when a new trainer is released (made with ce). I think that is what mystic0 was referring to.

The F is wrong with browsers acting to be our personal antiviruses and smart-asses about what is malware. An average user is so dumb he thinks it must be virus if there is a warning.

So... If I want to continue living in my safe little bubble and download the alternate version will it still be functional with simple game memory changes. I'm pretty new to this so don't care for any of its advanced functions and just want to mess around in flash games. Also, is there a "alternate" version of cheat engine 6.4?

Well, I'm guessing this website would be safer for my computer then downloading a program. And I just don't want my anti-virus set off/having to disable it. I figure if Darkbyte knew how to make the program in the first place he could probably incorporate malware into it without detection...
