The game I'm trying to hack money for is called My Life Story.
The first thing I tried was searching for the value displayed, which didn't turn up anything. After that I tried doing unknown initial value and increase/decrease value. I got a byte, and two pairs consisting of a double and a float. The two pairs matched each other and had extremely small negative values. I don't have a screenshot as I haven't been able to reproduce it.

Try to scan for Unknown Initial Value, all data types and then filter the results out with changed/unchanged value and not decreased/increased value. The money value is maybe encrypted with XOR or an algorithm.

I wonder why you don't find the displayed value, because it has to be stored somewhere, too.
if you're able to find the displayed value, you probably can find the address of the real money address with the CE-funtion "Find out what addresses this instruction access" in the memory view.

most of the flash games I hacked didnt used the multiply by 8 thing,
try using other tool like ollydbg maybe there are some useful strings to help you check for the right value of the money (it helped me in a game once to find wall hack check)
you can try search range of the money value
