Cheat Engine

Hi,

I'm currently using CE with Elite: Dangerous. It's still in alpha and not publicly available.

I've managed to do a number of cheats, by finding the values in memory and then using the "Replace with code that does nothing" option.

However the exact same method makes the game crash for some values.

Any idea on what's going on? My experience in assembly is limited, but I'm willing (and eager) to learn all I can.

Refer to the last step in the CE tutorial (data structure dissection).

The most probable reason why your game is crashing is because the instruction that you are NOP'ing is handling other addresses in addition to the address that you are trying to NOP. You must filter them out by writing a script so that they are not affected.

i cant even hack Money. i have the premium beta. Maybe the data is stored serverside?

Is there anyone else starting to experiment with Elite Dangerous in Solo Mode using Cheat Engine? I am just starting to tinker with it.
