Bleach is awesome.
It was the first anime that I ever begun watching liberally.
Honestly, I didn't want it to end. (the anime, that is. I could never get into Manga, I needed to hear Johnny Yong Bosch's voice.)
Yes, I preferred the English version in comparison to the Japanese.

I agree, too many fillers, though some of them had some very nice plots. And you know, you can always just skip them (now at least).
I don't see how you could think the anime itself is bad though. It has a good story, good animation, lots of fighting, and especially very good background music. The only thing that sucks is all the talking and flashbacks in between fights but all anime have that.

I get that, and dont get me wrong, their following a tried and true formula, but holy fucking shit was it just repetitive and predictable. I don't mind if anime's follow this format as long as they contain some surprises, but in Bleach, it was either too predictable, or so bs'ingly stupid that I'm surprised shit like that makes sense.
I don't know, looking back, Bleach is a terrible anime. It has it's high points, but damn does it have a lot more low points.
