I opened my task manager and saw my disk eating up 97% most of the time.
is it bad for my computer?
If so what are the consequences? please do tell and thanks in advance.

To give you an idea of how bad that is, it should be idling at 0%, browsing the web and stuff shouldn't use more than 10%. Watching a Youtube video in Firefox uses 1-4% for me.

it was mcafee antivirus all along eating up all my disk..!

The problem is all fixed, I had to uninstall mcafee and abrakadabra.!
my computer is back to normal again running smoother than ever.
