Because American football is way more of a sophisticated sport.

1. The soccer trainers seen in the image are not meatheads. This must be hard to comprehend, but what you refer to as 'meathead' is actually just a healthy physique.
2. Research has shown low IQ promotes a higher BMI (stupid people get fat more often). Considering their fat mass I wouldn't call them 'tactical geniuses'.
3. The trainers seen in the image are on the sidelines during a match, just like the football coaches. They're just doing it in style.

you do realize that you cant coach football unless you've played it. half of an offense consists of linemen, who need a big body. Just because low IQ can cause obesity doesnt mean obesity causes low IQ. also theyre barely obese, more like overweight

So most of the coaches are former players who never finished college, or finished college solely thanks to the sport they were excelling in, meaning they know of nothing else but football? Yeah no you are really getting your point across there.
Also, here is a chart which differentiates between overweight and obese. It's a scale based on the female body, and considering how much those NFL coaches look like the severely to morbidly obese woman I'd say they're obese. Very much so, considering women have a higher fat mass to begin with. They are almost at the point where they can actually transpire mayonaise.

In all seriousness though; a colleague of mine plays American Football. He's a lineback and is indeed big as hell. He's a tad on the heavy side but he's buff as well. He's already a big guy, but those coaches are like twice his size in fat. They are severely obese. I know Americans like to have different standards to delude themselves under what category they really fall, but they are obese.

Ani, since you're not from America, it's to be expected, but being an NFL coach makes you fat. Coaches are middle aged/elderly men who put 100 hours of work in a week and get minimal hours of sleep. This lifestyle catches up with you and makes you unhealthy, especially in the later years..

Here are two of the most successful NFL coaches right now, they are very fit. (Jim harbaugh coach of 49ers and John harbaugh coach of ravens) Not all coaches are fat.

They do that with a lot of stuff. Impressive feat. However the age and hours of work are not really an excuse. They earn enough money to eat a proper meal, but choose not to. You don't need to get fat when you don't exercise, if you just change the food intake. That, in my eyes, is not smart.
