Recently started to learn how pointers and offests works. Im practising on Frantic 2 and tried to find the pointer for the money, ended up with a thousand addresses like this
"FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe"+0002522C
with different offsets to match the end adress (or what to call it).
Could anyone take time and explain what it means and if/what im doing wrong?

Do a few pointer rescans. Reboot your computer or better use another pc and load your CE pointer file, than do rescans. Finally, if there are a few left, you can try use one of these.

"FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe" just stands for the flashplayer.exe base address (where the exe is loaded in the virtual memory).

Don't know if I could mostly answer your question, because it's less detailed...

Did 5 rescans and rebooted when it got stuck on 1072 adresses and tried a few rescans after that but it coudlnt get it less than 1072, tried a few other games on both firefox and chrome with the same result, just that chrome had 10k adresses. Ended up with either "FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe"+ or "Chrome.exe"+ only adresses, thats why i came here to see if anyone could help me
All of the results i get pont to the adress you get when you search for the money.

I can explain exactly what i did if you think it was not that well detailed.

1.Search money and add it to list.
2. Pointscaned it as explained above.
3. Did the same thing on other games and on chrome but ended up like this so i went here :c

1072 is very little. Normally you'll be left with hundreds of thousands results after several rescans (sometimes even millions)

The pointerscan is like a routeplanner which finds every possible path from point A to B
An offset is the distance on a road, and a level is a turn you can take.

There can be millions of paths that are all valid. (they end up in the destination)

So just pick a route you like

I usually pick the shortest route :shortest offset values, and least levels required (lowest distance and least amount of turns)

Yeah thought it worked like that, anyways what do i do with with the adresses, all of them are "FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe"+NUMBERS
Checked atlest 200 of them and all are like that

doubleclick them, and cheat engine will add them to the addresslist using the proper formatting.

Whenever you restart the game and let cheat engine re-attach, it will look up what the new address will be based on the string "FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe"+XXXX"

FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe means the address that FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe is loaded in memory
the value behind it means the number of bytes after the start

I know it works that way, but isnt there some way to get it into only hex with the exe included?

it's either HEX (12345) or EXE+HEX (FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe+12345)

And yes, you can look up what the address is of FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_152.exe+12345 , but if you're in windows Vista or later, there is a big chance that next time you run the process this address will be different.

Okay, thanks for clarifying how it works
