Hello, This might not be the right section to ask, but I am not sure. My question is, I have two applications, one in java (server) and one in Visual Basic (I will try to convert it in C++ but for now its written in VB), and I want to send some packets. Everything works good but the packets are so easy to edit... with WPE Editor you see exactly you send as a text, so I would like to encrypt it, but I am wondering if there is any function in windows API that does something similar, or should I create my own algorithm? Thanks in advance!

There are tons of public encryption methods you can use with your applications communications, but in most cases you are best to make your own to add a layer of security. Using a known encryption scheme means that there is a public way to decrypt the data.

Granted you are coding in Java/VB meaning people can just decompile your stuff and find the encryption code easily already.
