After the breakup I moved out of my GF's place, so I'm looking for a new place. So far I'm very much contemplating this one: http://www.rooftrack.nl/EenheidDetails/150028848
It's located IN the city, and you have a view of either the city or the water. Both of which are nice views. Don't look at the furniture, it's all for show of course, will be putting my own stuff in there. Has two bedrooms, which are needed as I'll have a roommate (sister).

Also 911 Euro per month? Just for yourself? Seems like a waste.
you're gonna be 8-16 hours a day at work, and when you'll get home, you def. NOT gonna be enjoying the view.

My sister and I will divide the costs, so it's roughly 600 a person with the additional costs for electricity/water/service costs. We both make about 3100 euros a month each. It's doable.

Looks very, very nice. 911 Euros a month is fairly expensive though, you should consider that. Then again if you have two incomes to pay the rent (you and your sister) and you're both not working at a grocery store... It might work. Dunno.

If it is like that then I think it's a good idea.

Yeah I'm also quite smitten by it. Hope my sister will agree to it. Considering she's currently paying about the same with her current roommate in an old house, she's probably fine with it.

Well we'd need more rooms. There's a four bedroom one, which costs about 1800 euros a month. Add the additional costs, plus perhaps 50 euros for internet/tv/phone, and you arrive at 2000 euros. Split between four people and it'd cost us 500 euros. cheaper, but I'm not sure I'd want that many people in my living room when everybody gets back from work.

If it was a friend yes. But things are probably different in your country. Social norms you know.
Also I can't even believe the price of this.... here in LA an apartment on the water (way crappier than that) would be like 8k+ USD a month.

I suppose. Whether it's my family or a friend I don't see the difference. The fact that my sister works seven days a week, 12 hours a day, because she's currently starting up a new business is an added bonus. I'll have the place mostly to myself.
To be fair about the price: the city it's in was built on water. They got rid of most of the water, tossed in loads of sand to create land, and the new city of Almere was born. Because it's relatively young (37 years old) and surrounded by water, it makes living close to the water a lot cheaper. There's loads of small rivers, lakes, etc.

| Looks pretty nice just make sure you consider a lot of options prior. Is it under a long term contract?
