Anyone remember these internet safety lessons?
Back in my elementary school days, the lessons I received were basically, "here are some stories of girls taking pics of their boobs and sharing them with with random strangers in random chat rooms."
but I think the lessons have improved. The lesson my sister received today was basically, "there are bad people who will make a fake facebook account of your friend, and then through that account, pm you saying 'hey lets go out to eat'."
this method has actually never occurred to me.
Anyway, my sister said they talked about one more thing, regarding the individuals that are in in meme pictures (not just a screen shot of the person from a movie, but real life people). I found this quite interesting. Apparently, some of the guys in these photos had their lives ruined because of the widespread of the embarrassing photo and the mean comments that are written on them.
Does anyone know of any examples? The only one she told me that I could understand was about some girl in the "Friday" music video that messed up a dance move, which went viral as a gif I supposed. Because of this, the girl had to start a cyber bullying blog.
but yeah, does anyone know of any picture memes that ruined the life of the person displayed?

I mean people who simply had their photo taken from facebook, perhaps posted on a forum, then everyone in the forum suddenly slaps a comment on it, making it go viral without the knowledge of the displayed individual.

I know, I read your post. But what people fail to realize is that once your pic goes on Facebook, your photo WILL be abused. That's why I don't post any prof. pics on FB
