friend wants to spent 700-1000 on a build with his tax return. i havent bought anything in over a year and don't know whats best in terms of price:power right now. any build suggestions?

he has...dvd drive and a 500GB harddrive. mainly gaming, but he also does some digital art with a tablet.

Quickly did this, I don't know if he has a brand preference or anything. With that much money its not hard to toss a computer together that's gonna be able to do anything you want flawlessly.

For ram, you don't need anything more than 8gb. As for video card, I'd say get the best single card he can get/afford.

He went with some parts from Charless' build. We also had to add in a case (GG Charless, not including one!) and a monitor, but still made it under $1k with my free shipping.
