I watched it because I'm not the kind of person to let people stop me from doing something, and I also wanted to see why it was so popular. Three minutes in I got the impression of a generic Treehouse show for children; people try to say it's "different" but Jesus Christ, I remember laughing more at Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs.
Seriously, I don't understand it having a fandom so large; I was in my computer class and half the kids including my teacher watched it.

without characters context its not easy to follow up what they are doing.
anyways, the show might just not be of your liking.
I would recommend you to watch at least the first 2 episodes of the first season before rejecting it.

Also most people don't even truly like it. Those faggots would watch a few episodes and go apeshit about how MLP is awesome. They just want to feel recognized and accepted as part of some "awesome" clan so they don't feel lonely and insecure about themselves. Fucking bandwagon. I only like MLP porn, that is it. Everything else about it can slowly burn into ashes.
