Windows 8 if you consider yourself adept with technology, Windows 7 if you just want arguably the best, most functional operating system that follows the same general GUI build as all the previous releases

windows 7 is best for gaming
if you dont game then dont use windows at all

windows 8 is just windows mobile for desktop/laptop
don't bother with it
just windows trying to compete with MacOS

I'm with gogodr, it's actually nice. Sure some things changed, but the benefits outweigh the negatives.
