have you installed anything yet?
model?
I'm thinking of buying a WNDR3700, with 64mb ram
and adding, say, a 1gb card/stick

| I have a e3200 with dd-wrt and a wnr2000v2 set up as a repeater with dd-wrt. Why don't you just get another computer and host the IRC server and webserver on that machine? RAM shouldn't have to be increased because 64mb is more than enough RAM for multiple people torrenting and playing games at the same time with no ping drop.

64mb ram is needed to run an irc server + transmission simultaneusly IN THE ROUTER.
So I don't have my computer on all day, plus I can attach an hd and seedbox while sharing the disk across my lan.
tghis wayI have a small irc server up 24/7 directly on my router, transmission (torrent client) and maybe lighttpd for w/e i feel like doing.
if I recall router ram isn't really increased when clients start torrenting and stuff.

The lower the ram with increased people torrenting will crash a router because it can't handle the bandwidth being rammed down its throat. Let me know how that goes with setting things up through your router, I'd like to try that in the future.
