I don't want to post in the art section because it's practically dead. Anyhow.

Can anyone help/find me a tutorial that gives me this effect?

In a different shape though, let's say a musical note. I'm doing a project for my school choir group, planning to put all their names on the back of the shirt shaped like a musical note.

You literally just place the text in a certain way all on different layers. For some of it I suppose you could make them follow a path but for the most part it's manual work. The gradient is just a clipping mask on two parts.

then hit load at the top and enter text

looks alright if you dont really give a shit

(just crop out the border shit.)

heres another supposed generator, I cant test it because it wont load on my browser and I dont feel like fixing it

If the images will be screen printed then the image should be very hi-res. Depending on the quality of your screen printer you may want to stay away from certain colors. Make sure you dont use the image above with small words on it, they will just be unreadable blotches.

I think you should just draw the shape you want and plot in the text on another layer and then when you're done remove the drawn shape.
It's tedious but almost completely foolproof.
