So, before deciding to delve into video game development, I never knew how broad the fucking term was. I want to design AND program games. Practically a game developer. I don't want to be a 3d artist or anything, even though I'm commonly told how great of an "artist" I am.

I just need to know what kind of classes I need to take..

I want to go to Wayne County Community college (MI), but the only thing that bluntly references video game development is
http://www.wcccd.edu/academic/pdfs/CIS-Video%20Game%20Design.pdf
video game design and animation.

I can't see if those classes are going to be 100% useful for me... I'm not sure if it teaches programming at all. What a shame :\

Computer information systems... I believe that's as blunt as it gets.

Honestly, fucking help me. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
Anyone that has experience with programming with school classes should really jump into the picture and help me the fuck out. Please :\

Do yourself the favor and not ask something like this here. Don't let others pick your life for you. Do what you want to do, not what others think is cool. You'd be wasting money going to college for something you don't like just to impress others.

You should go with a major that you're good at so that you won't have to struggle through out your college life. A game isn't only created by the developer, there is a whole team put together to make a great game. The developer mostly writes code all day and everyday, but a series of code without a good artist isn't going to get that game anywhere.

Anyway being a game developer is extremely difficult, depending on the type of game you want to create.
