Hello,

The problem with most MMORPGs is that 90% of the time you're doing the same things over and over again to complete quests; gathering objects, killing specific monsters, reporting to other NPCs,... This gets boring very fast.
They don't seem to really have a storyline but instead just have countless events, situations and problems that need to be solved.
An example of this would be World Of Warcraft.

In single player RPGs however, they don't have this kind of boring repetitive quests (at least not that I know of), but just have one long storyline (with some sidestories too sometimes).
An example of this would be Pokemon Red or Final Fantasy IV.

But playing alone gets boring fast too.
That's why I'm looking for either a co-op RPG, or a 'single player-style' MMORPG.

Any recommendations? Can be on any platform, I'm actually willing to buy new consoles to be able to play games like this.

Try some SNES games like chrono trigger/super mario rpg/paper mario(n64)

there are quite a few co-op RPGs out there, it just depends on what genres you like.

if you like more hack n slash RPGs like D2, there are plenty of games like that such as Titan Quest, Torchlight, Sacred, etc.

If you like games more like Dragon Age, with the whole DnD style gameplay, I'd check out Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate.

if you like games more adventure oriented, I'd check out Rune and use the co-op mod. It's an old game, but it's really fun, especially on co-op.

assuming you've already played borderlands (who hasn't?) you could also play the original DOOM on co-op. Might not necessarily be an RPG, but it's still a really fun co-op FPS. If you haven't played through borderlands, it's a staple co-op RPG/FPS that just about everyone enjoys.

play 2029 i cant even explain you how great that game was. doing quests was 1% of whole game, to bad that it closed. it was more like in rpg style
