2GB was suitable before the DS Lite was released. 4GB was suitable before the DSi was released.
to me anyway. As long as you aren't filling up the space with shovelware (super-low tier games by super-low tier developers, like Zoo), then you'll be satisfied with little space.
It's nice to be able to just have those games that you rarely play. Not having to consistently plug the SD card into the computer to get an old game is convenient.
Scrolling through a long list of games that I consider good enough to keep also feels good. Physically.
