what version of microsoft security essentials do you use? mine isn't flagging Rs.exe :/

or do I have to have the MAPS thing checked

Rs.exe is a dark comet RAT server that I encrypted. 0 / 14 is the detection rate when binded, but at runtime it is 1 / 14 with bitdefender being the only AV to detect it.

HOWEVER.........................

Faffaffy claims that MSE also flags RS.exe for "suspicious activity"

that's why i was curious

Kaspersky is another AV/IV you want to look out for. It notifies the victim of all NEW outgoing connection attempts being made, regardless of whether or not it sees the .exe as malicious. I don't know if any crypters are capable of bypassing this check though, that's something you'll have to ask the crypter developers.
