Is there any significant benefit to LUA scripting opposed to writing all memory edits in ASM?

I personally prefer pure ASM Smile
but yes, lua is faster to write and think and have some advantages; debugger and stuff.
now, i don't really know lua, so i might be wrong, but still, it's a high level language, and ASM is not Smile

Okay thank you! Looks like i'll be sticking to ASM for everything too since i've been flipping through various LUA scripts and they feel like a lot more work for the same results (although they are much more readable I must say)

Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being foolish in this decision.
