How do I cheat?

I playing some valve game on Source engine,i also have cheat engine 5.6.1
I tryed to hack it with directX mess
(like in forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=3871) but i failed.
I can't get worked wireframe/lights/z-buffer
Also i checked settings-there were directX9 driver.
So anyone can say how to use this hack on Source engine games?
Do i need something else exept DirectX driver,game and Cheat Engine?
Or this hack isnt' working anymore?

If you're on windows 7 64-bit with an nvidia gfx card the 5.6.1's directX mess will not work. for some reason the pointers of the hooked objects get reset when a statechange happens
Try it on windows xp
And it's possible it just won't work
Also, in 6.2 you could try d3dhook_setDisabledZBuffer(true) while attached to the game.
Perhaps it'll work better (or not, dx9 isn't fully tested)

My videocard is GTS 8600(old,but i use it,because my gts 450 cooler is broken.)
My OS is win 7 x32

In CheatEngine i found D3D tab,i hooked game process,i hooked Directx but theres only two options avaliable after i hooked directx:
1)Set custom crosshair
2)Lock mouse in game window

press ctrl+alt+l
there type in

|
and click execute
For wireframe:

|
Not many games do the zbuffer or wireframe properly which is why it's not a default option

Inworking on game,so i guess i still need r_drawothermodels 
Anyway thanks for help.
