I am breaking and tracing on a point and getting this :

As you can see, the value at 017943A0 is being moved into EAX, giving it the value 1108.
I want to find out how this value 1108 is created, so I want to find out what writes it to 017943A0.
But if I use "what writes to this address", I get hundreds of operations - I only want to find the one that makes it 1108.
How do I do this?

Do you wish to break or break and trace ?
Anyhow, based on your question formulation: you wish to find the instruction that writes the value 1108 to address 017943a0
(so not a break, just a find and record state)
Easiest method:
Use find what writes to this address (might want to pause the game first if it's constantly written)
Go to memory view and click view->breakpoint list
rightclick the breakpoint and choose "set/change condition"
Go to the easy tab and fill in
| Code: |
readInteger(0x017943a0)==1108
|
(if you meant hexadecimal 1108, then do 0x1108 )
click ok
now play the game (and resume if you suspended it) and make that value change to 1108
You will only see instructions that write 1108 to it
Some extra info for those that care: "find what xxxx this address" breakpoints break AFTER the instruction has been executed. That is why readInteger is a viable solution
