Apparently the asking price for either seems to be around $50. I'm cool with that.
Should I get an SNES and play awesome games like Castlevania IV and Super Metroid, or should I get an NES and play all the real (frustrating) classics like the original Metroid or the original Castlevania (and the original Mario games too, they're frustrating as fuck).

SNES games are way better than NES games, and they still hold up today, NES games don't hold up very much and the only reasons to play them is to say you did or because you like a series that started there, but for pure enjoyment SNES games are better, if you plan on getting both then you could start on the NES and beat the games you enjoy then get an SNES, but if you won't be having both in the near future the SNES is best

But it seems like you just want to own the old systems, so idk. Option is there though.

| So I decided on getting an SNES but then I realized that all the good games for SNES like Castlevania IV are like 20 bucks a piece. What a ripoff. I'm definitely going to stick with an NES, the games are like 8 bucks a piece, even the good ones. Except Contra of course, that has to be 25 dollars. But whatever. Maybe I'll get Ninja Gaiden first, that game's so hard nobody wants to play it.
