It doesn't matter if the world also goes through phases of heating or cooling.
The fact that we're going to have one, and are contributing towards it, means we have to do something against it.
Just because we're not doing it, doesn't mean we shouldn't protect ourselves from it.
You guys are as stupid as religious fucknuts. |
i think you contradicted yourself. i like you, though. |
I'm just pointing out that "even if" we didn't do it ourselves (which seems to be the most used argument here), we still have to protect ourself.

There's no denying that humans ARE having a negative effect on the atmosphere, which is a problem that we should solve. Global warming IS real, whether we are the cause or not. Might as well try to fix things... there's really no harm in using more efficient energy sources. | I agree, if we know its real we should just try to fix it, but global warming is just the problem, we need to find what is causing that problem, so the more we find out about it the easier we can fix it, if we are the ones causing it then we should find out how and fix that, if we aren't, and it was something already happening then we should realize that the cycles of the earth should be left alone and if not then at least find what caused it if not us |
and so we can prevent it from happening again many generations into the future. | implying humans learn from their mistakes

| It's kind of hilarious that we are killing ourselves, if you think about it. We have a very parasitic nature. We came to be on a host, destroy it, and then either move to the next host or die out. We are awful creatures, even more so because we are aware of what we're doing, but do relatively little to stop it. Perhaps it'd be better if the earth warms up to a thousand degrees, turning the air into poisonous gas, and killing us of. Our existence is a farce.

By the way, I love how everybody keeps saying we're destroying it.
We're not. We're making it uninhabitable.
Nature will still go on, we won't. Nature won't die, we will.

Then we'd have solved all problems. And we don't do that, solving problems.

Nature will still go on, we won't. Nature won't die, we will. | No it wouldn't... the intense heat would kill the trees. The heat and gasses would kill everything else.
The only thing that would have a possibility of surviving and continuing the evolution process would be the aquatic life and possibly some bacteria.

Bacteria can be aquatic life.

Bacteria can be aquatic life. |
what is your point?
bacteria can also dwell on land as well. aquatic life can not. that is why it is aquatic life and not land-dwelling life.
inb4 someone mentions amphibians and some reptiles but that doesn't invalidate my point |
I know what he meant, but he singled out bacteria in what he wrote.
