For a while I've known that raccoons live in my neighborhood, but they haven't really been too much of a nuisance. Until today, when I found a big raccoon on my roof. He was just staring at me like a bitch, and it was really intimidating. I didn't even know where his female raccoon was, so I couldn't rape it.
But I digress. I let my cat outside before I saw the raccoon, and my cat promptly ran away at several miles per hour. Luckily we brought her back in before the raccoon hurt her, but we might not be so safe next time.
My question is, are raccoons dangerous to cats?
My cat is an 8 month old female BTW. Already spayed and had her shots. I only let her out for a few hours during the day.
I don't really think my little kitty is the type to fuck around with raccoons, but this raccoon in particular seemed like a bitch. Also, this was during the day. Not the night. Only true bitch-raccoons go out at day.
tl;dr: RACCOONS ARE SUDDENLY SHOWING UP DURING THE DAY, IS MY 8MO KITTY SAFE??!

The raccoon will do it's stuff, but usually it won't bother anything unless it's bothered first.
Like, if one of my cats sees a raccoon in the yard, my cat will attack it and then the raccoon with defend itself, but I have never in all my days have I seen the raccoon be the aggressor.
