Chances are the star isn't dead. Takes fucking ages for stars to die. but yeah, you're still a few million years off.
Also, fun fact. The suns core is so dense that it takes light, on average, 10 million years to get from the centre to the sun to the surface.

Takes 8 minutes for light to go from the sun to the earth. | Yes, from the surface of the sun. Arktri is saying that the light in the core (the middle) of the sun takes 10 million years. I'm not so sure how accurate he is though. _________________
