| It's pretty good. I was just confused how he was suddenly able to use all those Asian fight moves: as far as I know Sherlock Homes was a boxer, nothing more.

I don't remember reading any stories where he actually got into a combat situation.

Never read any of the books, just an old English series I used to watch when I was younger. He didn't fight all the time, but there was this episode where it turned out he was a pretty decent boxer.

He boxes in the movie as well, but Im not sure if thats canon. Plenty of things were changed around from the stories to the movie, there wasn't even a dog as far as I remember in the stories. Plus he did not have any ongoing love interest as well.

Not sure what I watched as a kid. But as far as I know it was English boxing, and in the most recent movie he kicks and uses moves to disarm someone else, which is definitely not part of English boxing.
I'm not saying I didn't like it, but it was just weird to me as I only knew him to be adept at (English) boxing.
