A friend of mine is a really nice guy but his family is of another ethnicity so they live in a "ghetto" as they are here in Denmark(mild compared to those in other countries).
He had some money saved up for a new computer and some extra money to start out with once he finished school.
He had to give that money up because his parents needed money :\.
In Denmark it is stated, by law, that your parents or guardian rule over your money until you're 18~21 depending on the agreement.

my family bought a dog for $200~ dollars (shots, fixed, etc), when that money could have been used on us for our enjoyment. no one even likes the dog. same law here bro, my real dad lives in another state and pays child-support, i would love if it came directly to me and i could manage it myself, sadly does not. |

I dont understand your statement, show gratitude for what? and respect them why? just because they're my parents doesn't mean they should be treated special, they've done nothing for me but what they are obligated to, and I appreciate that, but when I have reached this age that I can live on my own I don't see them as amazing heroes but as normal people just like everyone else, and criticize them as so, when making dumb decisions or about to make them, I tell them my side because we have to live together, and when they don't hear me out or understand why my logic is better, then I lose even more respect for them and doubt their intelligence.
if anyone else bought a $200 dog when neither of them have a job and are getting free money from other people, i would call them fucking idiots, but i showed them the respect of telling them why it would be and why it is a bad decision, yet they did not listen or even take in to consideration how much more sense it made. |

Depending on what is was for, I see no problem, I'm currently giving $50 to my parents each week out of my paycheck for groceries and so they havve some money for christmas. |

If they didn't like the dog, they wouldn't buy it. As long as you're living under their roof you'll have to put up with shit and deal with it, that's what i'm saying.
