Cheat Engine

Ok well I have used Cheat Engine for some time now and its fantastic for most games however I have recently come accross a problem with The Sims Social and I am hoping somebody else is working on this.

Basically I can find the values of Sim Cash etc and then change them to my hearts content however it gives me the value I place but then it resets to its original number, put simply it doesnt give me the value I placed but it does for a second.

I just wanted to know if anybody else was working on this really and if so what progress do you have?

p.s This is my first post, don't expect it to be perfect, I have viewed the forums but never signed up until now, I hope you understand.

from what i understand, it checks the value from the server, so memory editing with cheat engine isn't gonna work, you can try packet editing however.

well can i have the codes please? i guess we can find a way to make them work, but i need to see the codes and how to change the amounts of money or social points, please. hope we can find how to make it work

The codes change each time you refresh the browser, its a nightmare!

I am literally at a complete stand still, I cant even notice the smallest of patterns. I am doing my best on it as Ive already spent a fair amount of my real money on simcash and then a glitch/bug stopped me from progressing the game further...I also lost items in a room glitch which annoyed me too!

Funny, I tried hacking this too, I believe the game's server-side as most Facebook games are, meaning the game we see is just the interface for the actual things going on behind the scenes that isn't on "our side".

you can hack server sided games by intercepting packets, decrypt and change them, then send it to server

I need to do this now. Unlimited cash. I'm pissed right now. I observed an auction on ebay for 4 days. 30 mins left. Didn't bid anything yet. Wanted to bid 50€. Forgot it. Someone got it for 1€. Can I intercept packages with Cheat Engine or do I have to do it some other way? Wireshark? I'm a complete beginner (although I know c++, haskell and python). No assembler or wireshark (networking things in general) knowledge. Just got cheat engine today.

No, not trying to hack ebay, cash in Sims. Need something to cheer me up. Tried this Wpe Pro program out, found pf_level and put "pf_level":"99" in the filter (modify) as hex. In the search tab I put my old level("pf_level":"12") as hex. But doesn't work.
edit: it doesn't start anymore when the filter is active. White window.

How would you decrypt the packets?

Also, if the game is actually on the 'server-side' and not 'our-side', then we would only be able to change the packets that we send to the server.

How would that work to help us? I mean, the info on our cash would be on the server-side, so how can we send a pacquet to change that value?

I'm new to the forums (signed up ages ago, just starting to use it), but I've used cheat engine quite a bit. I know how to use pointers and all, but I know nothing of assembly or any computer language. I don't know when to use hex, binary or when to multiply them by 8 to find the actual value of the end address to find the pointers and get my desired value, that's the only problem I have with cheat engine.

for server sided games, it is impossible to hack it via memory editing, the only possible way is by using packet editor.. for the decryption of packets, that i do not know as well... how it work is that before sending packets to the server, for example, like you get 10 coins in a game, you capture that packet, decrypt it (if it's encrypted), edit the checksum of the packet (if it's available in the packet), and then send it to the server repeatedly, etc so that you money will keep increasing without actually picking up any coins in game. other than packet editing, you can also use C++ programming to create a dll to inject into the process to tweak it, which i've seen before in a MMORPG game, it's server sided, but there's one person who's able to hack it using dll injection, and create inf HP, inf MP etc, which would otherwise be impossible by memory editing.
P.S.: The moral of the story is, it's complicated to hack server sided games. That's it Very Happy

dll injecting is memory editing (code manipulation to make the game do specific things, like sending specific messages to the server using the game's own encryption routine, can be done with AA scripts)

That of course still requires the server to believe what the client tells it though. And if the server knows it can't do that, it will deny that operation
