I'm not sure where to ask this.. but this sort of relates?
Move if necessary, mods.

I'm trying to upload a video to youtube that contains subtitles.
Thing is, once it's finished uploading, the subtitles just seem to disappear.
<I tried closed caption, doesn't even come up on the video.>
How the hell do I get the subtitles to work?

Thanks in advance.

(Oh by the way if you didn't tell by the heading, I'm using YouTube.)

Bleh..
Damned YouTube.
Any other tips?
I'd rather not mess around with them, they already have subtitles anyways and I don't wanna mess around with them cause I'm, well, a frakking noob at this stuff.
But thanks anyway!
I may do that as a last resort :c
I've also tried "extracting" the subtitles into a separate file and uploading it to YouTube as well, came up with a bunch of numbers and stuff.
Makes me sad..

You could use fraps to record the video as you watch it, then upload the fraps video.

Most likely the subs you are seeing are embedded and will not translate over. I have run into this issue burning videos with subs to dvd that had embedded subs, the subs would not carry over unless I specified a sub file to use directly.

Are the subs hard-coded or soft-coded into the video?

In advance options for the video after the upload you can attach a subtitles file.

That's a fairly good idea, I might try that.
Although I've already seen these videos like 18 times and have a few hours worth of footage lol Razz

Tried that, thanks.

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing soft-coded seeing as they are getting removed from the video at all.
