I've had a few successes with unrand. in games but I'm still not clear to what extent can it be use for.

I was thinking it would be use to change the success rate of certain things happening (ex. 50% chance of an item working). I tried it out but unfortunately it didn't work. Shouldn't the game generate random values to determine the success rate of something? Or is there something else behind it?

It depends on the game. If it uses a common randomizer code for something the unrandomizer effects it. But it if uses a special kind of randomizer, or if it's online, it won't have any effect
