That's illogical, if you're returning the ps3 version anyways why do you need a ps3?

But if the product key's inside the box, wouldn't you have to sell it second hand to get your money back? Or return it at a reduced price or exchange for another used game?

Usually you can return opened games for full price to places like gamestop, I know people who spend $50 on a game, go home, beat it, go back, exchange it, etc.
