I've only seen 2 movies this year. Skyline and Battle:Los Angeles.

*Spoilers AHEAD*

Skyline was a shitty movie. The movie could have been so much better if there was a different perspective or more. What I mean by perspective is the group of people the movie focuses on. In Skyline they focused on two guys and three girls. I guess the guys were college buddies and movie makers while the girls were wives/girlfriends. The characters are bland so I won't really elaborate on them any more. Basically many unknown ETs start falling down to Earth in the form of meteors. Same as B:LA, but the meteors give off a strange signal/glow that controls the minds people that makes them go into giant vacuum cleaners that sucks up all of the people. The movie had a chance to be interesting and good, but totally fucked up on the characters. They should have taken the B:LA or Independence Day route and focused on the military/government.

Battle:Los Angeles was a fantastic movie in my opinion.I won't try to spoil it too much because I actually liked it and recommend it to everyone. Same thing as B:LA in how the ETs came to Earth. Focuses on a group of Rangers/Marines that have to rescue a distressed police station before a number of artillery/bombs is dropped on this designated area. You will actually care about the characters. One of the few movies that made me cry.
