My limit is $750 CAD
Im looking for a decent gaming rig, if possible an i7 processor and SLi or crossfire. I maybe asking for too much with to little to spend so if you have to go a hundred over the limit is fine.
Thanks in advance!
Can you get the parts from canadian stores; tigerdirect factory direct newegg.ca etc

$776.42

* The motherboard has 2x PCIe x16 and reduces to x8/x8 when in you install 2 video cards

* I've selected a single piece of 4GB rather than 4GB (2x2GB) sticks. This allows you to upgrade to its full capacity of 16GB

If you want the 2x2GB option, note they're the same price...

*The GTX 460 you see on the setup is not the original that Nvidia launched, it's a new one dubbed "SE". This card is good for games playing at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 due to its higher memory bandwidth.

The GTX 460 SE cuts the number of cores from 336 to 288 to save power. Memory bandwidth doesn't matter in cases where the GPU itself can't render
frames fast enough to use the increased bandwidth. For the overclocking argument, memory you can OC but you are still stuck with the number of cores you have. My Gigabyte 460 1GB works quite well for games in 1920x1200, having overclocked the memory to 4GHz giving 128GB/s bandwidth and the core clock to 890.

The other alternative is to get a 6870, which performs favorably similar in performance while having lower heat and power consumption. Couldn't find any overclocked comparisons with the 460 OC'd though, but my general experience is that the 460s has higher OC headroom (not unusual hitting 900/4200), giving more performance than an OC'd 6870.
