I have no idea what the fuck I'm looking for, anyone want to give me some pointers and general tips?

Also should I buy a soundcard?

Get something with a sub. If you just need regular speakers theres a 2.1 logitech system on newegg for under 30

yeah looking for a subwoofer, actually a big part of why im getting speakers too, maybe some kind of bundle would be good or no?

I've got the standard Dell HD 2.1, the sound is pretty amazing when coupled with an HD 24b sound card.

No, don't get a sound card, it's a waste of money unless you want like 5.1 and your onboard card doesn't support it.

what I have now? shitty sony mdr-v150 for headphones and speakers are just my tv ones
