Then restart minecraft and go to the texture thingy and yeah there's nothing to it.

I found out, I needed to compress the files to ZIP and put them into C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks

Don't bother doing it the in-game way, it still doesn't support animated water/lava or texture packs that are greater than 16x16, just use the HD texture fix like before to install.

Hmm, thank you. But I wonder, why doesn't Notch make everything look much better? More gamemodes, more of everything. It anoys me that he is so slow.
