Actually, it just comes down to personal preference.
The Mac hardware is very overpriced, but the software is decent.
You can do everything that you would come across in your normal life on both, though one may do it better.
It's purely preference...

| I think Windows needs better fonts, notice how the rendering of fonts on OSX is more purty than Windows?

No, Windows has a lot more compatibility and programs available for it than OSX. |
Mac OSX has less users than Windows, therefore a bigger market, which is where program and game developers aim at.

Not to mention that for 30 years you have shops churning out software for one platform (yeah I know, I'm not counting consoles in this example), all your equipment, development tools, and staff are fluent in the API's used by that platform, you would be starting at zero.
For the record, if I could afford a Mac, I would have one on my network. If you've never been to BestBuy or the Apple store to check one out, you should. The things are dead sexy.

That depends one billion percent upon which OS of Windows you are using, the monitor you are using, and their respective settings.
You can't make any kind of overgeneralized statement like that about either really.
