Brace for fanboys.
I haven't really played a PS3 so I cant really say but Xboxes have some good exclusives (halo (Say what you want, I enjoyed it)/GoW). It's customer support is pretty good from my experience.
You have to pay to play most games online but it's not that much and there is usually almost no problems with it (You also get some nice bonuses for paying). People always use the RRoD as an excuse to slag of xboxes but I have had mine for around 3 years and I have had no problems (so I think it's just down to stupid people being stupid about how they handle their console)
From what I have experienced with PS3's they have pretty nice graphics, online is decent. It also has some nice exclusives. I personally prefer the Xbox controller layout but that is just me.

| Depends. My personal preference for FPS (First Person Shooters) is the 360 but for everything else I choose the PS3. |

They are both great consoles. If your friends have xbox360, then get that. If your friends have PS3's, then get that.

Hah, that is actually the main reason I got my X-box. (Plus it was cheaper and I prefer the controls) |
