I recently got RF:G with the THQ pack and have just put it on my computer. Everything runs fine except there seems to be a problem with lights (Or particles since it happens when I hit rocks with my hammer)
Well here is a picture
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/892/rfg.jpg

Specs.
Manufacturer: Acer
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 1790MB RAM
Hard Drive: 76 GB
Video Card: Radeon X1950 Pro
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.100218-0019)

So any help would be much appreciated.

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO E4400 (2 GHz)
Memory: 1 Gb
Hard Drive: 15 Gb free
Video Memory: 128 Mb
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1300 / NVIDIA GeForce 7600
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard
Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

You seem to be lacking the minimum requirements. Can't bitch about anything.

might be a hardware quirk, i don't think older ati cards filter depth textures like nvidia cards did.

since dx10, this kind of stuff is enforced and both vendors have to meet it.

my x1900 card did the same thing in fallout 3 with lights

Did you find a way to fix it or did you have to play with it?

So the problem is your pc is bottlenecking at the cpu. Get a new pc.

But why would the lack of CPU power make the lights pixely?

Considering the socket type he has is dead. If he wants to stay intel, or switch to amd even, a new mobo is the least he needs to get a better cpu.

Anyway, problem solved I guess.
