if you like modeling then you should really switch to maya or max(i recommend max) they are packed full of tools and useful features that blender cant match.

thats not true, Blender has grown a lot. I'm a Max user but I gotta admit that there are some things you can do with blender that you wouldn't be able to do with pure Max. Also there is the advantage that Blender is a free open source.
in the end its not that there a program is better than the other, its all about how you feel more comfortable.
personally I prefer Max over any other 3D program but that may be because I have been working with max for years.

i guess , but only reason people use blender is because its free or they dont know how to properly install a cracked version of max or maya . ive used blender (mainly to test out its physics compared to reactor) and i hated it , and so did everyone else that i asked(out of the people i know who model).
also maya seems to be easier for beginners (because of its tool shelf). but max has many useful plugins and is more widely used.

I use blender because i started taking a class for it.
