Hello.
I have a few vinyls lying around and i would like to convert them to .flac
How can i do this without breaking the bank but still maintain good quality?

LAME is lossy, and the codec part is not what im worried about. It's the vinyl to PC.

Well, you're going to have to get a record player that has a usb port, so if you can find something like that...
(you won't)
Otherwise, there are always companies that can do this, but I would just recommend getting torrents of it instead of finding a way of converting it. Get a what.cd account, almost everything they have there is FLAC.

A good number of the record players with USB connectors are of poor quality. I would recommend trying the phono preamp output straight to sound card input, or after an amplification stage.
This is a pretty crappy place to ask about this, though.

Yeah. i figured.
I am guessing im going to need to buy a turntable/mixer/record player. They cost a lot though.
I may just abandon this.

Why do you have vinyls without a turntable in the first place?
