You do realize that is a rather horrible strategy right? Instead of a strong pokemon, you get 6 shit pokemon.
My typhlosion is level 72, i've steamrolled EVERYTHING in 2-3 hits, rest of team is lugia(fly), togetic(flash), krabby(cut), gyarados(surf, whirlpool, waterfall), and the onix you get from trading at the beginning(rock smash, headbutt(never use this though)

Trainers. wild pokes dont do jack shit for you untill MT silver. You should have a vs seeker. Use it the day after you fight a trainer and it should let you refight some.
