I been trying everything to make it work ALL the time, as it will work. I found out 9/10 times, if i rub the side of my wii with a little pressure, it reads :/
Think the laser is just dirty but who knows.

| Meh its probably from too much hacking. Must have done something to hurt it, but it works none the less. Its probably just due to age. It is from launch.

Did yours happen to sit around alot of smoke? Cigarette smoke tends to cause the wii to be dirtier, which is probably my issue. Again, mine has been hacked and cleaned and hacked again.

Yea, mine has been around smoking parents. It can cause the wii to become dirty easily. So I gotta buy a cleaner wii disc. Only about 10 bucks.
