I'm going to spend 300$ in a good case and a good cooling system and test how much I'll be able to overclock this thing.
according to my "EasyTune6 " which was certified with my motherboard, it should be able to overclock it up to 3.2GHz

i7 = 8 cores, uses 4 simultaneously ..
quad = 4 cores and uses 2 simultaneously
core 2 duo = 2 cores and uses both simultaneously

You really don't know shit do you? Intel uses this thing called Hyper threading. It makes it have as many Logical cores as it does physical cores. A quad core processor has 4 physical cores. Intels hyper thread gives each physical core a logical core.

It reads on windows as 8 cpus. My dads p4 has hyper threading and it reads as 2 cpus. AMAZING ISNT IT?

Is it bad for your coffee maker to brew at 100%? No. Is bad for your toliet to flush at 100%? No, 100% swirls work best! Is it bad for your microwave to run on high or 100%? No. Same with a cpu. Its not like a car engine. There are no moving parts to wear down. It's just electricity passing through microscopic wires. Heat is definitely dangerous, but we're not talking about 100% voltage, which would fry any CPU, we're talking about 100% clock speed, which shouldn't be producing enough heat to be dangerous, even if it was for days.
