A HD 5850 is enough to power any game nowadays on highest settings anyways. What's the point.

does a workstation model ring a bell?

a gaming gpu doesn't need to do full blown ray tracing, it's built around the fundamental concept of rasterization.
also gpu physics is laff.

I don't understand why everybody says this. Nvidia and ATI are always bouncing back and forth between who's in the lead at the time. Soon, Nvidia will release something better than the current ATI cards at a decent price, and ATI WILL BE FINISHED HAHAHA!

change the search type, the search is skewed because the card on the top of the list has 900+ reviews.

ati has more up there at the lowest price point

For me, in terms of drivers, NVidia has always been the one for me. Support is simply awesome for NVidia cards. ATI on the other hand... not so much. When it comes to performance, I have no complaints whatsoever about my NVidia GTX 295. Works, rain or shine. And when it has been priced down, I'll just put in another for maximum performance.
