You need to insert the ram away from the CPU, did you do that?
There is a button on the board that fixes ram issues, have you try that as well?

| tried memok, tried all ram positions, i vleared the cmos jumper and that worked. when it went to boot a beep was coming from my speaker which removing the gpu fixed. i tried with my old 4650 and i get no signal to the monitor, dvi or vga.

| hot windows installed and running with 4650. with the 5850 it dosent do the beeps for gpu failure, its more like it gets stuck while doing the normal vga check and the beep just goes on forever. ill try updating bios n shit.

Hero, check the manual of the motherboard for the QVL (Qualified Vendors List). This will help you find out whether or not the motherboard supports the RAM you bought for it. Always check the QVL of the motherboard prior to buying the memory.
I know someone will probably barge in here saying the QVL is often outdated or inaccurate, but in cases such as these it proves its worth.

There are millions of rams out there and Asus won't have all the time to test every individual piece in every configuration possible. The advantage of using ram on the list and is just for technical support when your board is not booting, the Asus tech ask you what type of ram. If you mention the ram they have on the QVL list, they help you out. If not all they say is your RAM is not supported, blah, blah, blah and all other nonsense bullshit.
Why do I know? Happened to me before, the ram I've used on my Asus mobo build wasn't' on the list, system won't POST. Called them they ask me about my ram (wasn't on QVL list) and they stop helping me. Went back to the store and exchange for another exact same Asus mobo with the same ram and it boots up fine. No problems at all, used that system for a full solid 3 years (no issues at all) before selling it.
The QVL is one thing, just don't confined yourself to what you see on the list.

Read my full post next time, that's basically what the final sentence stated. I'm just saying that if you buy RAM that is on the list, you won't find yourself with RAM / motherboard incompatibility. I even stated that the QVL is inaccurate and/or outdated. It's just a type of failsafe so you know for sure that it is compatible.

Sorry mate, I only read the first post. What I'm getting is that you have two different types of graphics card, and the one with the VGA output isn't functioning properly/at all?

OP said it's not ram issue and you need to go out of the boundaries of some stupid fuckin list.
